Mobocertinib Succinate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Terminalia interacts with.

Theoretically, use of Terminalia arjuna may increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Terminalia arjuna extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes and reduces CYP3A4 substrate metabolism.

Here's the simple version. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down mobocertinib (Exkivity). Lab studies suggest Terminalia arjuna can slow that enzyme down. If clearance slows, more of the drug can build up in your blood than expected, which may mean stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like diarrhea, mouth sores, nausea, rash, or heart rhythm changes (a longer QT interval). That QT concern is why I'd be especially careful here.

Now, the good news: this is based on test-tube data only, not real patients, so it's theoretical and the real-world impact isn't proven. Still, mobocertinib is a serious cancer drug, so please don't add Terminalia without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

What Is Mobocertinib Used For?

  • Mobocertinib is used to treat a certain type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that cannot be removed by surgery and has spread to other parts of the body either during or after treatment with platinum chemotherapy medications. Mobocertinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells and may help shrink tumors.
