Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine
Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your blood pressure pill Prestalia has two parts. The amlodipine half is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab dishes, a compound in Thunder God Vine called triptolide seems to slow that same enzyme down. If it does the same thing in the body, your amlodipine could clear more slowly and build up a bit, which might push its effects further than expected. With amlodipine that can mean more dizziness, flushing, swollen ankles, or blood pressure that runs lower than you want.
Honestly, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube work, not something reported in real people, so I wouldn't panic. Still, since Thunder God Vine itself can be risky, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
