Here's the gist with this pairing. The oxycodone part of Percocet already works on your brain to ease pain, but it can also make you drowsy, slow your breathing, and leave you feeling foggy. Tree turmeric (mostly its berberine) showed mild sedative effects in animal studies, so the worry is that stacking the two could add up to more sleepiness or sluggishness than oxycodone alone.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is theoretical and based only on lab and animal work, not real patients. So it's not something to panic over. Still, since opioids and extra drowsiness can be a risky mix, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially when you're starting either one.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: the oxycodone half of your Percocet relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn it into oxymorphone, a more potent painkiller. Berberine, the active compound in tree turmeric, can mildly block that enzyme. So in theory it could shift how much active drug your body makes from oxycodone.

The honest truth is the evidence here is thin (mostly lab studies and one lower-quality trial), so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you notice more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing, or on the flip side, that your pain isn't well controlled, mention it. The acetaminophen part isn't really affected. Before adding a berberine supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
