Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Butabarbital Sodium
Butabarbital Sodium falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.
Animal research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can have sedative effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: butabarbital is a barbiturate, a strong sedative that already slows your brain down to help with sleep or anxiety. Tree turmeric (mainly its berberine) has shown calming, sedative effects in animal studies. So when you stack the two, the worry is that they could add up and push the brakes a little harder than expected.
In real life that might mean feeling extra drowsy, groggy, dizzy, or slow to react, with a bigger hangover feeling the next day. I want to be honest, though: this concern comes from lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, since butabarbital is potent on its own, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

“Butabarbital sodium (Butisol Sodium) is a barbiturate, an older sedative prescribed for sleep and anxiety, and this class of drug leaves little margin once sedation stacks, so its list of 97 interacting supplements deserves genuine respect.
