Theoretically, taking tree turmeric along with antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can have hypotensive effects. Also, a meta-analysis of clinical research suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine (Norvasc) can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with taking amlodipine alone.

Here's the thing to know about pairing tree turmeric (which delivers berberine) with fenoldopam. Fenoldopam is a powerful IV blood pressure medicine, given in the hospital to bring down very high blood pressure quickly. Berberine has shown its own mild blood-pressure-lowering effect in animal studies, so taking both could theoretically push your pressure down a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, flushed, or notice your heart racing a bit. Honestly though, this is pretty theoretical. Fenoldopam is only used under close monitoring in a hospital setting, where your team watches your blood pressure constantly. The evidence here is mostly lab and animal based, so don't panic. Just mention any supplements to your care team.
