Fluvoxamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the gist for tree turmeric and your fluvoxamine (Luvox). Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down fluvoxamine. The berberine in tree turmeric appears to slow that enzyme down, so in theory it could let a bit more fluvoxamine build up in your system than usual.

If that happens, you might notice more of fluvoxamine's typical side effects, like nausea, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, headache, or feeling jittery. Keep in mind this is mostly theoretical and based on lab work plus some early human data, so it may never cause you a problem. Still, concentrated berberine supplements are far stronger than a pinch in cooking. Before combining them, check with your pharmacist or doctor, and please don't stop or change your fluvoxamine on your own.

What Is Fluvoxamine Used For?

Brand name: Luvox

Both fluvoxamine maleate tablets and Fluvoxamine Maleate extended-release capsules are approved to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) — a condition marked by unwanted, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that cause significant distress or interfere with daily life.

Fluvoxamine maleate tablets are approved for adults and for children and adolescents ages 8 to 17. Fluvoxamine Maleate extended-release capsules are approved for adults with OCD; their use in pediatric patients naive to fluvoxamine requires special prescriber consideration regarding the lowest available dose.
