by HealthyBiom
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking 50 Billion CFU Probiotics against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of 50 Billion CFU Probiotics by HealthyBiom
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 12 active ingredients — a proprietary blend of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, each identified by its strain designation (UALp-05, UALa-01, and so on). These are beneficial bacteria (probiotics) meant to support your gut flora.
The formula also contains inactive ingredients including microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable cellulose, fructooligosaccharide, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silica — these are binders, fillers, and capsule materials.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence varies widely by ingredient and condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are both possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); L. acidophilus is also possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea and bacterial vaginosis, while B. bifidum is possibly effective for respiratory tract infections.
For most other conditions listed — including hay fever, anxiety, cognitive decline, asthma, and others — the data we hold show insufficient evidence to rate these probiotics' effectiveness. Talk with your pharmacist about what problem you're trying to address; they can help match it to what the evidence actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Gastrointestinal side effects — bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea — are uncommon but have been reported, especially when probiotics are combined.
Because these are live organisms, there's a theoretical concern about infection in people with severely weakened immune systems or serious underlying illness; the data note rare cases of bacteremia and sepsis in critically ill patients. Pregnancy safety is rated possibly safe for L. acidophilus, B. bifidum, and B. longum; data on L. gasseri and B. breve in pregnancy and lactation aren't on file.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or have a compromised immune system, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you're on antibiotic drugs, check with your pharmacist about the timing — separate doses to avoid reducing the probiotic's effectiveness. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check, but use the search tool on this page to verify your exact medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis — but the evidence is modest and most other uses aren't well studied. If you take antibiotics, separate your doses from this product by a few hours.
People with healthy immune systems tolerate it well, but those with serious illness or immune compromise should talk to their doctor first.

50 Billion CFU Probiotics by HealthyBiom Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
HealthyBiom's 50 Billion CFU Probiotics contains five ingredients with documented interactions, all involving antibiotic drugs.
The most serious concern is with Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus gasseri, and Bifidobacterium breve — each shows a Moderate interaction with antibiotic drugs. Because these probiotics are live organisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics may reduce their effectiveness; the antibiotics can kill off the beneficial bacteria you're trying to take.
We recommend separating doses by a few hours if you're on antibiotics.
