What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • “Proprietary Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (470 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This product contains 2 active ingredients: broad-spectrum hemp distillate (the CBD source) and fractionated coconut oil (a carrier and base). The hemp distillate is a concentrate that includes multiple compounds from the hemp plant.

Inactive ingredients — lemon flavor and stevia — are present to improve taste and mouthfeel.

Couldn't assess
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

The label doesn't state a purpose we can grade — see each ingredient's own graded uses on its monograph instead.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for what these ingredients can do isn't established in our data. For the hemp distillate, we hold effectiveness ratings for constipation, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and familial hypercholesterolemia, but none of them have sufficient reliable evidence to rate.

Coconut oil has similarly insufficient evidence for diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity. If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the current evidence supports its use for you.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Fractionated coconut oil is generally well tolerated in food amounts, though concentrated supplement doses aren't well studied — your doctor should weigh in if you're taking high doses. Coconut can trigger allergic reactions, ranging from hives to anaphylaxis, in people with hypersensitivity; about half of reported reactions are severe.

Hemp products are generally well tolerated in food amounts, but concentrated extracts like this one are less studied. Rare serious adverse effects reported with hemp include anaphylaxis, long QT syndrome, and in one case report, elevated liver enzymes in a young child given very high doses.

Most people tolerate hemp seed oil well. Pregnancy and lactation safety data for the hemp distillate isn't on file; coconut oil is likely safe in pregnancy and lactation.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 2 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Coconut, Hemp.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 1,019 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you take hormone therapy or estrogens (Moderate severity), or blood thinners, antidiabetes drugs, blood pressure medications, ACE inhibitors, or drugs metabolized by your liver's CYP1A2 or CYP3A4 enzymes (all Minor severity). Hemp may speed up how your body clears certain drugs, potentially making them less effective, and may theoretically add to the effects of blood pressure and diabetes medications.

Estrogens

Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)

Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D

Coconut Oil, Fractionated1 drug type · 86 drugs

Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, taking coconut with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that coconut milk might increase insulin levels and/or decrease blood glucose levels.

Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm on birth control or hormone therapy?
The broad-spectrum hemp in this product may theoretically interfere with how your body handles estrogens, including hormonal birth control. Is this safe if I have a tree nut allergy?
Coconut is grouped with tree nuts for allergen labeling in the US, and it can cause allergic reactions — including severe ones like anaphylaxis — in people with hypersensitivity. What is broad-spectrum hemp distillate, and how is it different from CBD isolate?
Broad-spectrum hemp distillate is a concentrate that contains multiple compounds from the hemp plant, not just CBD alone. It's more complex than a pure CBD isolate, though we don't have effectiveness data to compare them directly in our records.
