What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: organic fermented Royal Agaricus Mushroom at 500 mg per capsule. The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose, an inert inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold on agaricus mushroom doesn't establish reliable support for any of its common uses. The data rates its effectiveness for allergic rhinitis (hay fever), osteoporosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chemotherapy-induced adverse effects, and Crohn disease all as insufficient — meaning the science so far doesn't clearly show whether it works for these conditions.
If you're considering it for one of these purposes, talk it over with your doctor about what the current evidence actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Agaricus mushroom is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, though some people report abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, or nausea. Rare but serious adverse effects have been reported, including allergic reactions, liver damage, and interstitial lung disease (a scarring condition in the lungs).
Three cases of severe liver damage occurred in women with ovarian or breast cancer who were undergoing chemotherapy and also took agaricus mushroom supplements; two of these cases were fatal. The safety data for pregnancy and breastfeeding is too limited to know whether it's safe, so the safety notes advise against supplement doses during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before starting Fermented Royal Agaricus 500 mg, double-check all antidiabetes medications (insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, and similar drugs) with your doctor or pharmacist. This product carries a moderate-severity risk of increasing low blood sugar episodes when combined with these drugs.
No other interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Agaricus mushroom is generally tolerated as food, but supplement safety and long-term effects aren't well established. If you take diabetes medications, this product requires a conversation with your doctor or pharmacist first because of the risk of low blood sugar.
If you have liver disease, a history of allergic reactions, or lung problems, mention those as well. The evidence for its intended uses is still uncertain, so clarity on why you're taking it matters.
