What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Garcinia Complete against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Garcinia Complete contains three active ingredients. Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit extract standardized for hydroxycitric acid (HCA), its main active compound.
Pure green coffee bean extract supplies caffeine and chlorogenic acid. Raspberry ketone extract is included as a supplemental ingredient.
The product comes in a vegetable capsule made with cellulose as a binder.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence we hold doesn't establish that garcinia cambogia works for athletic performance, liver health, high cholesterol, or weight loss—the data rates all of these as insufficient. Green coffee bean extract, by contrast, shows promise: the data rates it as likely effective for mental alertness and possibly effective for Parkinson disease, heart failure, diabetes, and reducing overall mortality.
Raspberry ketone's effectiveness for hair loss or weight loss is rated as insufficient in the data we have.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Garcinia cambogia is generally well tolerated short-term, though serious liver injury—though rare—has been reported. The most common side effects are diarrhea, stomach discomfort, headache, and nausea.
Rare cases of liver failure, mania (especially in people with bipolar disorder), and pancreatitis have been linked to garcinia use. Green coffee bean extract is well tolerated in moderate amounts but can cause jitteriness, anxiety, headache, stomach upset, and insomnia—effects that increase with higher caffeine intake.
Caffeine withdrawal headaches can occur when you stop. Raspberry ketone is used safely in foods, but safety data for high supplement doses in humans is very limited; heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, and high blood pressure have been reported in some cases.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Before starting, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take ephedrine or other stimulants (Major severity risk), blood thinners like warfarin or antiplatelet drugs, antidepressants or other serotonergic drugs, diabetes medications, lamotrigine (Lamictal), clozapine (Clozaril), fluvoxamine (Luvox), cimetidine (Tagamet), disulfiram (Antabuse), dipyridamole (Persantine), or pentobarbital (Nembutal). Any medication processed by your liver also warrants a conversation.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product combines ingredients with documented interactions to many common medications and some serious cardiovascular risks. If you take blood thinners, antidepressants, diabetes medications, epilepsy or psychiatric medications, or any stimulant, you'll need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Even if you don't take prescription drugs, the caffeine and raspberry ketone content can raise heart rate and blood pressure; discuss this product with your own healthcare provider to see if it's appropriate for you.

Garcinia Complete by Healthy Body Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Garcinia Complete by Healthy Body contains three ingredients—garcinia cambogia, green coffee bean extract, and raspberry ketone—that together interact with a significant number of medications.
The most serious interaction is between the green coffee bean extract (which contains caffeine) and ephedrine, a stimulant that can cause dangerous effects including high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and in rare cases death when combined with caffeine.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Garcinia cambogia raises moderate concerns with blood thinners (anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs), since its main active compound may increase bleeding risk. It also theoretically poses moderate risks with antidepressants (serotonergic drugs)—there is one case report of serotonin syndrome when garcinia was taken with escitalopram—and with medications that are processed by the liver, since rare cases of liver injury have been linked to garcinia use.
Additionally, garcinia may lower blood sugar when combined with diabetes medications.
The green coffee bean extract interacts with numerous medications through its caffeine content: it can reduce the effectiveness of lamotrigine (an epilepsy and mood medication), interfere with dipyridamole used in cardiac stress testing, increase side effects from several psychiatric medications (clozapine and fluvoxamine), and intensify caffeine's effects when combined with cimetidine or disulfiram. Pentobarbital, a sedative, may lose effectiveness with caffeine use.
Raspberry ketone, finally, may increase the risk of heart problems when taken with other stimulant drugs and theoretically may require higher doses of warfarin (a blood thinner) to maintain effectiveness. Altogether, these interactions span 942 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to confirm your exact drugs before starting.

Garcinia Complete Proprietary Blend
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
HCA inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. The inhibitory effect seems to be greater in platelets extracted from diabetic subjects than non-diabetic subjects.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
HCA reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in animal models, theoretically by delaying glucose absorption. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.
Serotonergic Drugs
Theoretically, combining garcinia with other serotonergic drugs might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome.
In one report, a patient experienced serotonin syndrome after taking garcinia extract (60% hydroxycitric acid) 1000 mg daily in combination with escitalopram 20 mg, which had been taken for a year. The patient was switched to sertraline 50 mg daily and again experienced serotonin syndrome.
