What’s inside
Full disclosure
IndoleMax contains one active ingredient: indole-3-carbinol, a compound found naturally in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and Brussels sprouts. The product also includes inactive ingredients—vegetable cellulose, white rice flour, and rice extract—which are used as the capsule material and fillers.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for indole-3-carbinol is not yet established in the data we hold. We have insufficient reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical dysplasia, liver disease, colorectal cancer, or fibromyalgia.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work—it means the clinical trials to prove it aren't complete or strong enough yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Indole-3-carbinol from food is likely fine, but supplement doses at higher concentrations are less well studied and should be used cautiously. The most common side effects from oral use are diarrhea, nausea, rash, tremor, and unsteadiness.
Higher doses have been linked to imbalance and tremor; one person taking 400 mg twice daily developed these symptoms after 10 days, which improved when the dose was cut in half. Because of possible hormone effects and limited safety data, concentrated supplements should be avoided during pregnancy.
Safety data isn't on file for this ingredient during breastfeeding, so supplement use is not recommended while nursing. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your individual situation if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking IndoleMax, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (Moderate risk)—indole-3-carbinol may increase bleeding. Also check if you're on estrogen therapy (Moderate risk) or any drugs that depend on the CYP1A2 enzyme to be cleared from your body (Moderate risk), as this supplement may reduce how well they work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
IndoleMax may be worth considering if you're interested in the potential benefits of indole-3-carbinol, but the evidence for its effectiveness is still being researched. However, you should be cautious if you take blood thinners, antiplatelet drugs, estrogen therapy, or medications metabolized by the CYP1A2 pathway.
Before adding it to your routine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure it won't interfere with your current medications or health situation.

IndoleMax by VitaMonk Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
IndoleMax by VitaMonk contains indole-3-carbinol, which does interact with medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel)—indole-3-carbinol may increase your bleeding risk by interfering with how platelets clump together.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Indole-3-carbinol can speed up how your liver breaks down a large group of medications that depend on the CYP1A2 enzyme pathway. This may lower the blood levels and effectiveness of drugs in that category.
Additionally, if you take estrogen therapy—whether birth control, hormone replacement, or other forms—indole-3-carbinol may reduce how well it works by interfering with estrogen's effects in your body.
Altogether, these interactions span 294 individual medications. Before you start IndoleMax, run your exact prescriptions through the search tool on this page, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's safe to combine with what you're currently taking.
