Bijuva combines estradiol and progesterone, the same hormones your body normally makes. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) is thought to nudge the liver to break down estrogen a bit faster. The concern here is that revving up this clearance could lower the amount of hormone in your blood, which might make your therapy work less well. That could mean a return of symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, or vaginal dryness.

Here's the honest part: this is theoretical and based only on lab and animal studies, not real people taking Bijuva. The amount you'd get from eating broccoli or cabbage almost certainly won't matter; concentrated supplement doses are the bigger question. Before adding an I3C supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Bijuva combines estradiol (an estrogen) with progesterone, usually to ease menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. Here's the concern with indole-3-carbinol: this supplement is thought to nudge your liver toward breaking estrogen down into weaker forms, and lab tests suggest it can act against estrogen's effects. If that happens, the estradiol part of your therapy could work a little less well, meaning your menopause symptoms might creep back.

I want to be honest about how solid this is: the evidence comes mostly from lab and animal studies, not from real-world patients, so it's far from certain. Eating broccoli or cabbage at dinner is unlikely to matter, but concentrated I3C supplements are a different story. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
