Here's the simple version. Cablivi (caplacizumab) is an injected medicine that helps prevent dangerous blood clots in aTTP, but because of how it works it already raises your risk of bleeding and bruising. Indole-3-carbinol, the compound from broccoli and cabbage that's also sold in concentrated capsules, has shown in lab dishes that it can make platelets less sticky. Cablivi is not a prodrug, so this isn't about the liver switching it on or off. It's simply two things that can each nudge bleeding risk in the same direction.

The evidence here is weak (test-tube only), so don't panic. Still, with a serious condition like aTTP, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or blood in urine or stool, and please clear any I3C supplement with your doctor or pharmacist first. Food amounts of these veggies are unlikely to matter.

  • Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
