Here's the gist: Edoxaban is already a blood thinner that blocks factor Xa, so it slows down clotting on its own. In some lab dish studies, Indole-3-carbinol seemed to make platelets (the cells that help form clots) a little less sticky. If that holds true in people, pairing the two could nudge your bleeding risk slightly higher.

What might that look like? Easier bruising, nosebleeds, gums that bleed when you brush, or bleeding that takes longer to stop. I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical and comes only from test-tube research, not from real patients, so it's far from proven. Food amounts of broccoli or cabbage are very unlikely to matter. Before adding a concentrated I3C supplement, just run it past your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Edoxaban Used For?

Brand name: Savaysa

Savaysa (edoxaban) is used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (when a clot travels to other parts of the body) in adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation — a type of irregular heartbeat not caused by a heart valve problem. Important: Savaysa is not appropriate for everyone with this condition; people with very high kidney function (creatinine clearance above 95 mL/min) should use a different anticoagulant instead.

Savaysa is also used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT — a blood clot in a deep vein, usually the leg) and pulmonary embolism (PE — a blood clot in the lungs). For DVT and PE, Savaysa is started after 5 to 10 days of initial treatment with an injectable blood thinner.
