What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Inositol Caps against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Inositol Caps by Twinlab
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Inositol Caps contains one active ingredient: inositol, a naturally occurring compound related to the B vitamins. The capsule itself is made from gelatin, potato starch, magnesium stearate, and medium chain triglycerides — these are all inactive ingredients that help form and stabilize the supplement.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Inositol is possibly effective for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and metabolic syndrome, and possibly effective for reducing the risk of preterm labor. However, the evidence does not support its use for anxiety, diabetic nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy), or depression — in those cases, it's rated possibly ineffective.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Inositol is generally well tolerated at typical doses. The most common side effects from taking it by mouth are diarrhea, gas, and nausea — usually mild and digestive in nature.
In pregnancy, inositol is rated possibly safe, but safety is not fully established; if you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it. There isn't enough reliable information on inositol during breastfeeding, so check with your healthcare provider for personalized advice if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Inositol Caps, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take any antidiabetes drugs — inositol can lower blood glucose and may increase the risk of low blood sugar when combined with these medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Inositol Caps might be worth considering if you have PCOS, metabolic syndrome, or are concerned about preterm labor risk — talk with your doctor about whether it's right for your situation. If you take any diabetes medication, you'll want to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first because of the risk of low blood sugar.
