Maxi Active Pro-10 is a powder probiotic blend with 16 active ingredients: live beneficial bacteria including multiple Lactobacillus species (acidophilus, salivarius, plantarum, bulgaricus, casei, helveticus, lactis, rhamnosus, and reuteri) and several Bifidobacterium species (longum infantis, longum, bifidum, animalis lactis, and breve), plus Streptococcus thermophilus. The inactive ingredients include mannitol, silicon dioxide, tricalcium phosphate, and steviosides (a natural sweetener).

Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum each show possibly effective ratings for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and some other conditions, but many of the other bacteria in this blend have insufficient evidence to rate—meaning studies haven't established whether they work for their proposed uses.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
