Restore 40+ Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Restore 40+ against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Restore 40+ by Pure Essence PureBiotics
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Restore 40+ contains 15 active probiotic ingredients — a blend of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains. Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria intended to support digestive and immune health.
The product also includes a few inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, L-leucine, silicon dioxide, and a vegetable capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these individual probiotic strains is mixed and incomplete. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and some other conditions, but most of the strains in this product have insufficient evidence to determine whether they work for specific purposes.
The data we hold doesn't establish reliable effectiveness for the product as a whole.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotics in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy adults. However, safety data are limited for several of the strains, so it's wise to check with your doctor before use — especially if you're seriously ill, have a weakened immune system, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Rare gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea have been reported with probiotic use. There's also a theoretical concern that live bacteria might cause infection in people who are critically ill or immunocompromised, though this is uncommon.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you use antibiotic drugs. Since these probiotics are live organisms, antibiotics taken at the same time may reduce the probiotic's effectiveness — you'll want to separate doses by at least a few hours.
No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're looking for a multi-strain probiotic and you're generally healthy, but the evidence for most of these strains is still being established. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to space them apart from this product.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a compromised immune system, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medications.

Since these probiotics are live organisms, antibiotics taken at the same time can kill them off before they establish themselves.
The solution is straightforward: space out your antibiotic and probiotic doses.
