STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital
Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group 1,3-dmaa interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here is the simple version: your medication (Micomp PB) already contains caffeine, which is a stimulant, plus ergotamine, which narrows blood vessels to treat headaches. DMAA is also a powerful stimulant that revs up your heart and tightens blood vessels. Stacking two stimulants together can pile on the cardiovascular strain. You might notice a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, and higher blood pressure. The ergotamine piece is what really worries me, since both DMAA and ergotamine constrict blood vessels, and overdoing that can cause dangerously poor circulation.
Honestly, the easier issue is DMAA itself. The FDA has pulled it from supplements because of strokes, heart problems, and even deaths. The combination concern here is based on how these drugs work (theoretical), not hard proof, but please avoid DMAA and check with your pharmacist or doctor.
