Why this applies to Bisoprolol

Bisoprolol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group 1,3-dmaa interacts with.

1,3-DMAA strongly inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzymes in vitro. Theoretically, 1,3-DMAA can increase levels of CYP2D6 substrates. Some of drugs that are CYP2D6 substrates include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the thing I'd want you to know about pairing DMAA with bisoprolol. In lab studies, DMAA appears to block the liver enzyme CYP2D6, which is one of the pathways that helps clear bisoprolol from your body. If that enzyme is slowed, bisoprolol could build up a bit, leading to a stronger effect than expected. That might show up as a very slow heart rate, dizziness, lightheadedness, unusual tiredness, or feeling faint when you stand up.

There's a bigger worry too. DMAA is a harsh, illegal stimulant that raises blood pressure and heart rate, working directly against what your bisoprolol is trying to do. This interaction is only theoretical (lab data, not people), but DMAA itself isn't safe and should be avoided. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything like this.

Bisoprolol fumarate tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the strain on the heart and blood vessels, helping prevent serious complications over time.
