Here's the simple version: nitrazepam is a benzodiazepine sleeping pill, so it already slows down your brain to help you fall and stay asleep. 5-HTP can cause its own drowsiness because your body turns it into serotonin. Put the two together and the sleepy effects may stack up, leaving you groggier than you expected.

In real life that could mean stronger next-morning drowsiness, dizziness, trouble concentrating, or feeling unsteady on your feet. To be clear, this concern is theoretical, based on how both act rather than proven cases, so it's a heads-up, not an alarm. Don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you're older or already feel drowsy in the morning.
