Levodopa, Carbidopa falls under DOPAMINE AGONISTS — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might have additive effects when used with dopamine agonists.
Ayahuasca contains the beta-carboline constituent harmine. Animal research shows that harmine increases extracellular dopamine levels.

Here's the gist with levodopa/carbidopa: your body converts levodopa into dopamine, which is exactly what's in short supply with Parkinson's. Ayahuasca contains harmine, a compound that animal studies suggest can also push up dopamine levels and act like an MAO inhibitor. Put those together and you could, in theory, get too much dopamine activity at once.

What that might look like in real life: more nausea, dizziness, confusion, vivid dreams or hallucinations, jerky involuntary movements (dyskinesias), or swings in blood pressure. I want to be honest though, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on lab and animal data, not solid human studies. Still, mixing an MAOI-type brew with a Parkinson's drug is risky enough that I'd ask you to check with your doctor or pharmacist before going anywhere near it.
