Prednisone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might increase plasma concentrations of CYP3A4 substrates.
Ayahuasca contains beta-carboline alkaloids. In vitro research suggests that beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for prednisone: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help process it. The beta-carboline compounds in ayahuasca have shown, in lab studies only, the ability to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in a person, prednisone might clear a little more slowly and build up slightly, which could mean more of its usual effects, things like fluid retention, mood swings, trouble sleeping, raised blood sugar, or stomach upset.

I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical. It comes from test-tube research and hasn't been seen in actual people. Ayahuasca carries far bigger safety concerns on its own. Before mixing anything like this, please check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
