Pergolide Mesylate falls under DOPAMINE AGONISTS — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might have additive effects when used with dopamine agonists.
Ayahuasca contains the beta-carboline constituent harmine. Animal research shows that harmine increases extracellular dopamine levels.

Here's the idea behind this one. Pergolide works by acting like dopamine in your brain, and ayahuasca contains a compound called harmine that can raise dopamine levels too. So in theory, taking them together could stack their effects, giving you too much dopamine activity at once.

With pergolide, that could mean more of its known downsides, such as nausea, dizziness, a drop in blood pressure when you stand up, unusual sleepiness, or confusion and hallucinations. I'll be honest though, this concern is theoretical, based on how these substances work and on animal studies, not on real cases in people. There's also a separate serotonin worry with ayahuasca's MAOI effect. Either way, please don't combine these without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
