Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Bitter Almond interacts with.

Theoretically, bitter almond oil may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Bitter almond and its oil contain amygdalin, which is hydrolyzed to toxic hydrocyanic acid. This can cause CNS depression and respiratory failure.

Here's the simple version: the hydrocodone in your cough medicine is an opioid that already slows your breathing and makes you sleepy. Bitter almond contains amygdalin, which the body can turn into cyanide, and that's thought to depress the nervous system too. On paper, putting these two together could add up, leaving you more drowsy, foggy, or short of breath than expected.

I want to be straight with you, though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these chemicals behave, not on real-world reports with this medicine. The bigger issue is that bitter almond is genuinely toxic and shouldn't be eaten or used internally at all. Stick with sweet almonds, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything with this opioid.
