Ezetimibe, Atorvastatin falls under ORGANIC ANION-TRANSPORTING POLYPEPTIDE SUBSTRATES (OATP) — the group Black Tea interacts with.

Theoretically, black tea might reduce the absorption of organic anion-transporting polypeptide (OATP) substrates.
In vitro, black tea extract inhibits organic anion-transporting polypeptide (OATP)2B1. OATP2B1 is expressed in the small intestine and liver and is responsible for the uptake of drugs and other compounds. In an animal model, black tea extract was found to inhibit the absorption of rosuvastatin, a substrate of OATP2B1. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with your combo pill Liptruzet (ezetimibe plus atorvastatin). Black tea contains plant compounds that, in lab and animal studies, seem to block a gut transporter called OATP2B1 that helps pull certain drugs into the body. If that happened with your medicine, less of it might get absorbed, which could make the cholesterol-lowering effect a little weaker over time.

The important part: this is theoretical. It was only seen in test tubes and animals (with a related statin), never confirmed in people, so the worry here is small. Atorvastatin and ezetimibe both work fine for plenty of tea drinkers. You don't need to give up your tea, but if you drink large amounts daily, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your cholesterol numbers.
