If you enjoy a cup of black tea while using tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for blood sugar or weight, the good news is this is a very minor concern. Tirzepatide is an injectable medicine that works on your gut hormone pathways, and it isn't broken down by the same liver enzymes that many pills rely on. So black tea doesn't really change how the drug itself works.

The theory here is just about blood sugar in general. The caffeine in tea can nudge sugar up or down a little, while tea's plant compounds may slightly lower it. The evidence is weak and mostly in healthy people. For most folks, normal tea drinking won't cause noticeable trouble. If you check your sugars and notice shaky, sweaty low-sugar episodes or readings that look off, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Tirzepatide injection Used For?

Brand names: Mounjaro, Zepbound

Zepbound is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to reduce excess body weight and maintain that weight loss long term in adults with obesity, or in adults who are overweight and have at least one weight-related health condition. Zepbound is also approved to treat moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults with obesity.

Zepbound should not be combined with other tirzepatide-containing products or with any GLP-1 receptor agonist.
