Diclofenac Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Borage interacts with.

Theoretically, borage seed oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In healthy individuals, borage seed oil supplementation does not seem to affect platelet aggregation. However, gamma-linolenic acid, a constituent of borage seed oil, seems to decrease platelet aggregation by 45% and increase the risk of bleeding by 40% in animal and clinical research.

Here's the gist: Diclofenac is an NSAID, and like other drugs in that family it can make it a little harder for your blood to clot, which is why it carries a bleeding warning of its own (think stomach upset, ulcers, or bruising). Borage seed oil contains GLA, which in some animal and clinical research nudged platelets toward clotting less and raised bleeding risk. Stack the two and you may slightly add to that bleeding tendency.

Honestly, this is mostly a theoretical concern, and in healthy people borage didn't seem to change platelet function much. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice dark stools, easy bruising, nosebleeds, or any bleeding that won't quit.

Diclofenac sodium topical gel is used to treat actinic keratoses (AK) — rough, scaly skin patches that form after years of sun exposure. These patches are considered precancerous, meaning they can develop into skin cancer if left untreated.

This is a topical gel, meaning it is applied directly to the skin over the affected area rather than taken by mouth. It belongs to the NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) family.
