Tenecteplase falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Borage interacts with.

Theoretically, borage seed oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In healthy individuals, borage seed oil supplementation does not seem to affect platelet aggregation. However, gamma-linolenic acid, a constituent of borage seed oil, seems to decrease platelet aggregation by 45% and increase the risk of bleeding by 40% in animal and clinical research.

Here's the thing about Tenecteplase (TNKase): it's a powerful clot-busting drug given through an IV, usually in an emergency like a heart attack, to quickly dissolve a blood clot. Because it works so fast and forcefully on your clotting system, bleeding is already its biggest risk.

Borage seed oil contains GLA, which may make platelets a little stickier-resistant and slightly raise bleeding risk on its own. Stacked on top of a strong clot-buster, the worry is more bruising or harder-to-stop bleeding. The good news is this concern is mostly theoretical and based on weak research, and Tenecteplase is given in a controlled hospital setting. Still, always tell the care team about any borage or supplements you take, and never adjust an emergency medication yourself.
