Tenecteplase falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, danshen may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Danshen has been reported to have antithrombotic effects. Animal research also suggests that taking a danshen combination formula with clopidogrel exhibits a synergistic increase in antiplatelet aggregation and prolongation of coagulation time when compared with either taken alone.

Here's the thing to know about tenecteplase (TNKase): it's a powerful clot-busting drug given in the hospital, usually during a heart attack or another emergency where a clot needs to be dissolved fast. It already raises your risk of bleeding on its own, which is why it's used so carefully under close monitoring.

Danshen has been reported to thin the blood and slow clotting too. So in theory, layering it on top of tenecteplase could push the bleeding risk even higher, things like easy bruising, prolonged bleeding, or in serious cases internal bleeding. To be fair, this concern is based mostly on animal studies and case reports, not strong human trials. Still, since tenecteplase is an emergency medicine, always tell your care team about any supplements like danshen.
