Inotersen falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, danshen may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Danshen has been reported to have antithrombotic effects. Animal research also suggests that taking a danshen combination formula with clopidogrel exhibits a synergistic increase in antiplatelet aggregation and prolongation of coagulation time when compared with either taken alone.

Here's the thing about Inotersen (Tegsedi): it isn't a typical blood thinner, but one of its known side effects is a drop in platelets, sometimes a serious one. That's why people on it get regular blood tests to watch their platelet counts. Because platelets are what help your blood clot, anything that adds to bleeding risk deserves a second look.

Danshen has been reported to slow clotting and reduce platelet stickiness, so pairing it with Inotersen could, in theory, raise your chances of bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or harder-to-stop bleeding. Keep in mind this concern rests on animal data and scattered case reports, not solid human studies. Still, given Inotersen's own bleeding risks, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining the two.
