Grepafloxacin falls under QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Calcium interacts with.

Calcium seems to reduce the absorption of quinolone antibiotics.
Advise patients to take oral quinolones at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after calcium supplements or calcium-fortified foods. Taking calcium at the same time as oral quinolones can reduce quinolone absorption. Calcium binds to quinolones in the gut.

Here's the gist: Grepafloxacin is an antibiotic in the quinolone family, and calcium can get in its way. When the two meet in your stomach, calcium grabs onto the antibiotic and forms a clump your gut can't absorb well. The result is that less of the antibiotic actually gets into your bloodstream, which means it may not knock out your infection the way it should.

This isn't about more side effects. The real worry is a weaker antibiotic and an infection that lingers or comes back. The easy fix is timing: separate them. A common approach is taking the antibiotic at least 2 hours before, or 4 to 6 hours after, calcium pills or calcium-fortified foods like some juices. Please run your exact schedule by your pharmacist so the spacing fits your doses.
