Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Dapsone
Dapsone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.
In vitro and animal research shows that cannabidiol inhibits CYP3A4. In human studies and case reports, cannabidiol has been associated with an increase in plasma levels of the CYP3A4 substrates zonisamide, tacrolimus, everolimus, citalopram, midazolam, and methadone.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the short version: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear dapsone. CBD can slow that enzyme down, so dapsone may build up a bit more than usual in your system. That means a stronger drug effect and a higher chance of side effects.
With dapsone, the side effect I'd watch most closely is something called methemoglobinemia, where the blood carries oxygen less well. Warning signs include unusual tiredness, headache, shortness of breath, a fast heartbeat, or a bluish tint to the lips or fingertips. Dapsone can also lower red blood cell counts. The science behind this CBD interaction is solid, so please don't start CBD without first checking with your pharmacist or doctor so they can guide you.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dapsone page
“Dapsone treats serious conditions, from dermatitis herpetiformis to leprosy, and its supplement list is one I'd want a patient to read closely rather than skim. Most entries touch how the body handles dapsone through the CYP3A4 enzyme, so grapefruit can raise its blood level while St.”

- Anxiety and stress
- Sleep problems
- Chronic pain

CBD is a compound from the cannabis (hemp) plant that does not cause a 'high.'
