Theoretically, cannabidiol might have additive effects if used with other CNS depressants.
Preliminary clinical research, case reports, and animal studies suggest that high dose cannabidiol has sedative and hypnotic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with drugs with sedative and anesthetic properties may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects.

Here's the simple version: secobarbital is already a powerful brain-slowing medicine, designed to make you drowsy enough to fall asleep. CBD, especially at higher supplement doses, can have its own calming, sleepy effect. Put the two together and those effects may stack up, leaving you more sedated than you bargained for.

In real life, that could mean feeling extra groggy, dizzy, or foggy, having slowed breathing, or being hard to wake up. To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based mostly on how each one works rather than solid studies in people, so it may not happen to everyone. Still, secobarbital is strong stuff, so I'd play it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't change your secobarbital on your own.

Theoretically, cannabidiol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6.
In vitro research shows that cannabidiol inhibits CYP2B6. However, this interaction has yet to be reported in humans. Until more is known, use with caution. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with CYP2B6 substrates might increase the risk for adverse effects from these substrates.

Here's the gist for combining CBD with secobarbital (Seconal). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2B6 to help break down secobarbital. In lab studies, CBD appears to slow that same enzyme down. So in theory, mixing the two could let secobarbital build up a bit more than expected, meaning stronger effects like heavy drowsiness, grogginess the next morning, slowed breathing, and trouble waking up. Secobarbital is already a powerful sedative, so any extra push isn't something to take lightly.

I'll be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube data, and it hasn't actually been reported in people yet. Still, since both can calm the brain, please run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before using them together.
