Here's the thing to know about pairing casein peptides with moexipril (Univasc). Moexipril is an ACE inhibitor, meaning it lowers blood pressure by blocking the ACE enzyme. Casein peptides, especially the lactotripeptides IPP and VPP, appear to gently nudge that same enzyme in lab studies and may lower blood pressure a little on their own.

So the worry is additive: stacking the two could push your blood pressure down a bit more than expected. That might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. Honestly, the evidence here is modest and the effect is usually small, so this isn't a reason to panic. If you'd like to try a casein supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first so they can keep an eye on your numbers.

What Is Moexipril Used For?

Brand name: Univasc

Moexipril Hydrochloride tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with thiazide diuretics (water pills) when blood pressure is not controlled by moexipril alone.

It's worth knowing that ACE inhibitors, including moexipril, tend to lower blood pressure less effectively in Black patients than in non-Black patients, and Black patients also have a higher risk of a serious swelling reaction called angioedema with ACE inhibitors.
