Here's the gist: your combo pill already does two jobs to bring blood pressure down. The hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that helps your body shed extra fluid, and the metoprolol is a beta-blocker that eases your heart rate and the force of each beat. Corn silk seems to gently lower blood pressure on its own, partly through a mild fluid-shedding effect of its own. Stack it on top, and the two pushes can add up.

So the realistic concern is your pressure dipping too low. That can show up as lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand, fatigue, or feeling faint. This is mostly theoretical and based on how things work, not strong proof, so don't panic. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding corn silk, and let them know if you notice those symptoms.

Your Lopressor HCT combo contains hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill that already nudges your body to flush out sodium and potassium. Corn silk seems to work in a similar way, acting as a mild diuretic itself. Pairing the two could double up on that effect, which might drop your sodium and potassium a little lower than expected.

If those levels dip too far, you could feel things like muscle cramps, weakness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or an unusual heartbeat. To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how corn silk behaves, not strong proof from people taking both together. Still, since you're already on a diuretic, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor, who may simply want to check your electrolytes.
