Carvedilol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Diosmin interacts with.

Theoretically, diosmin might inhibit the metabolism of CYP2C9 substrates.
Diclofenac is metabolized by CYP2C9 enzymes. Clinical and laboratory research shows that diosmin inhibits the metabolism of diclofenac. A pharmacokinetic study in humans shows that taking diosmin (Venex 500) 500 mg daily for 9 days prior to oral administration of diclofenac 100 mg increases blood levels of diclofenac and decreases diclofenac clearance.

Here's the gist for carvedilol (Coreg): your body partly clears it using a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Diosmin may slow that enzyme down a bit. In plain terms, your carvedilol could be cleared a little slower than usual, letting more of it build up in your blood. That could mean its blood-pressure and heart-rate lowering effects feel stronger, so you might notice more dizziness, lightheadedness, unusual tiredness, or a slower pulse, especially when standing up quickly.

I want to be honest about how strong this evidence is: it's mostly theoretical, based on how the enzyme behaves and on a study with a different drug (diclofenac), not carvedilol itself. So for many people it may not cause a noticeable problem. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, rather than starting or stopping anything on your own.

Diosmin is a citrus-derived flavonoid most often used for vein-related problems such as chronic venous insufficiency and hemorrhoids, and it is usually combined with a related flavonoid called hesperidin. Some studies suggest it may help relieve leg swelling and hemorrhoid symptoms, but quality varies. About Carvedilol

What Is Carvedilol Used For?

Brand names: Coreg, Coreg CR

Carvedilol is used for three main things. It treats mild to severe chronic heart failure, usually alongside diuretics (water pills), ACE inhibitors and digitalis, to improve survival and lower the risk of hospitalization.

It also lowers the risk of cardiovascular death in stable people who have survived the acute phase of a heart attack and have a weakened heart pump (left ventricular ejection fraction of 40% or less). Finally, it manages essential (primary) high blood pressure, alone or with other blood pressure medicines, especially thiazide-type diuretics. The labels for Carvedilol tablets, Coreg tablets, Carvedilol Phosphate extended-release capsules and Coreg CR extended-release capsules all list these same uses.
