Here's the simple version: linagliptin (Tradjenta) already works to bring your blood sugar down, and some animal studies hint that eyebright may nudge blood sugar a bit lower too. Put the two together and, in theory, your sugar could dip lower than expected. That's the whole concern here.

I want to be honest though, this is based only on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a real alarm. Linagliptin on its own rarely causes low blood sugar, but if you do add eyebright, watch for signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. Before starting any eyebright product, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
