Here's the gist with glipizide and eyebright. Glipizide already works hard to lower your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. The concern is that eyebright might also gently push blood sugar down. Stack the two together and, in theory, your levels could dip too low (hypoglycemia), which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though: this comes only from animal studies, not people, so it's a theoretical worry rather than something well proven. Still, if you decide to try eyebright, it's smart to check your sugars more closely and loop in your pharmacist or doctor first, especially before changing anything.

Glipizide tablets and glipizide extended-release tablets are both used as an add-on to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication of uncontrolled blood sugar).
