Flaxseed + Aliskiren
Aliskiren brand name: Tekturna.
Flaxseed has a moderate interaction with Aliskiren. Theoretically, flaxseed might have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs and increase the risk of hypotension.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Aliskiren
Aliskiren falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Flaxseed interacts with.
Clinical research shows that daily flaxseed consumption, especially for longer than 12 weeks, modestly reduces blood pressure.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: flaxseed itself can gently lower blood pressure, especially when you eat it daily for more than about 12 weeks. Since Aliskiren (Tekturna) is already working to bring your numbers down, stacking the two could add up and push your pressure a little lower than expected.
If that happens, you might notice lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand up, or feeling unusually tired. This is a theoretical concern based on how both work, not a strong red flag, and small food amounts of flaxseed on cereal or yogurt are unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated daily supplement doses are more likely to matter. If you want to use flaxseed regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings at home.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aliskiren page
“Aliskiren (Tekturna) has one job, keeping blood pressure down, and most of this list pulls on that same rope. Of the 227 supplements with an interaction on file, 119 have blood-pressure effects of their own, stacking with the drug until pressure drops too far (fish oil is a common one) or pushing back against it.”

About Flaxseed
What is Flaxseed?
- Constipation and digestive health
- High cholesterol
- Heart health
- Menopausal symptoms
- Blood sugar support
Flaxseed is a nutritious food rich in fiber, omega-3 fats (ALA), and plant compounds called lignans. It is most reliably helpful for constipation and may modestly lower cholesterol, but evidence for many other uses is mixed or limited. It is generally safe as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it as a supplement, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
About Aliskiren
What Is Aliskiren Used For?
Brand name: Tekturna
Aliskiren and Tekturna tablets are both approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old and weigh 50 kg (about 110 lbs) or more. Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks.
Managing blood pressure is usually part of a broader plan that may also include diet changes, exercise, cholesterol control, and other medications. Many people need more than one blood pressure drug to reach their goal.

Aliskiren Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Aliskiren as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Flaxseed — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
