Garcinia + Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin brand name: Farxiga.
Garcinia has a moderate interaction with Dapagliflozin. Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.
HCA reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in animal models, theoretically by delaying glucose absorption. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea: Garcinia contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), and in animal studies it seemed to lower blood sugar a bit, possibly by slowing how fast glucose is absorbed. Dapagliflozin (Farxiga) already lowers your blood sugar by helping your kidneys flush out extra sugar in the urine. So in theory, stacking the two could push your numbers a little lower than expected.
I want to be honest with you though, this is purely a theoretical concern. It has not actually been shown to happen in people, only in lab animals. Still, it's worth knowing the signs of low blood sugar, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling confused. If you're thinking about trying Garcinia, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, partly because of these rare liver safety reports.

What is Garcinia?
- Weight loss
- Appetite suppression
- Curbing sugar and carb cravings
- Supporting metabolism
- Traditional cooking and souring agent
Garcinia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), widely marketed for weight loss and appetite control. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have liver issues, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
About Dapagliflozin
What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?
Brand name: Farxiga
Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.
