Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
HCA reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in animal models, theoretically by delaying glucose absorption. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist of it. Trulicity (dulaglutide) already does a good job of lowering your blood sugar. Garcinia, thanks to its hydroxycitric acid, might nudge your blood sugar down a little too. Stack the two and, in theory, your sugar could dip lower than expected. That's what we call hypoglycemia, and with dulaglutide it can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling confused or unusually hungry.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern. The blood sugar effect of garcinia has only been seen in animal studies, not in people, so the real-world risk is probably small. Still, if you'd like to try garcinia, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your sugar readings.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
