Insulin Degludec falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
HCA reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels in animal models, theoretically by delaying glucose absorption. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version: Tresiba (insulin degludec) already does one job very well, it lowers your blood sugar steadily over a long stretch of time. Garcinia, through its active compound hydroxycitric acid, might nudge blood sugar down a little too. Stack the two and the worry is that your sugar could dip lower than intended, which we call hypoglycemia.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. The blood-sugar effect from garcinia has only shown up in animal studies, never confirmed in people, so this is theoretical. Still, since low blood sugar can cause shakiness, sweating, confusion, or worse, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding garcinia. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brands: Insulin Degludec, Tresiba) is indicated to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in patients 1 year of age and older with diabetes mellitus — both type 1 and type 2.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication where acids build up in the blood). In patients with type 1 diabetes, it must be used together with a short-acting insulin.
