Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies and Simvastatin, Sitagliptin

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Minor

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS

Why this applies to Simvastatin, Sitagliptin

Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies interacts with.

Theoretically, taking apple cider vinegar, which is contained in Goli ACV, with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia (i.e., low blood sugar). Apple cider vinegar might reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels and decrease gastric emptying in people with diabetes, which could theoretically, have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Severity Minor Likelihood Possible Evidence A

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Juvisync is a combo pill: simvastatin lowers cholesterol, and sitagliptin (the diabetes half) helps your body manage blood sugar after meals. The piece that matters here is the sitagliptin side. Apple cider vinegar may gently nudge blood sugar down on its own, partly by slowing how fast your stomach empties. Stack that on top of a diabetes medicine and, in theory, your sugar could dip a little lower than expected.

Honestly, this is a minor and mostly theoretical concern, and the small amount of vinegar in a Goli gummy isn't likely to cause trouble. Still, it's worth knowing the signs of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, sudden hunger). If you notice those or want to be safe, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding the gummies.

  • Heart health support
  • General wellness and energy

Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies are a flavored supplement that delivers a small amount of apple cider vinegar along with added ingredients like beetroot and pomegranate. While apple cider vinegar is popular for weight and blood sugar support, the human evidence is limited and the amount in each gummy is fairly low, so don't expect dramatic results. They are generally well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you have a health condition or take medication.
