Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Hibiscus Sabdariffa interacts with.

Theoretically, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract might reduce the metabolism of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract inhibits CYP2D6. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: hydrocodone is actually a prodrug for part of its pain relief. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn some hydrocodone into hydromorphone, a stronger painkiller. Lab studies suggest hibiscus may gently block that same enzyme. In theory, that could mean a little less of that conversion, so you might notice slightly weaker pain or cough relief rather than more side effects.

Now, the honest part: this is theoretical, seen only in test-tube research, and never reported in real people. Hibiscus tea in normal amounts is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated extracts are the bigger question mark. The pseudoephedrine side isn't really affected here. If you take hibiscus regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

This combo product pairs hydrocodone (a narcotic cough and pain reliever) with pseudoephedrine (a decongestant). The hydrocodone part is handled in your liver partly by an enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab dishes, concentrated hibiscus extract has slowed that enzyme down a bit. In theory, if it did the same in your body, a little more hydrocodone could hang around, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.

Here's the honest part: this is only a test-tube finding and has never actually been seen in people. A cup or two of hibiscus tea is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated capsules are where I'd be a touch more cautious. If you use either regularly, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
