Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Pentazocine
Pentazocine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear pentazocine (Talwin). Ipriflavone may slow that enzyme down, so in theory pentazocine could leave your system more slowly and build up a bit. If that happens, you might feel its effects more strongly, things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, slowed breathing, or just feeling more out of it than usual.
I want to be honest about the strength of this one. It's based on lab and animal testing, not real people, so it's mostly theoretical and may never cause a problem. Still, since pentazocine is an opioid where being too sedated matters, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pentazocine page
“Pentazocine (Talwin) is an opioid painkiller, so what matters most on this list is anything that deepens its sedation or slows your breathing, and here the risk is real enough to demand respect. Seventy-eight of the 167 supplement and herbal ingredients with an interaction on record are sedating in their own right, and six of the seven…”

Ipriflavone is a synthetic isoflavone studied mainly for bone health and osteoporosis, but high-quality research has not shown that it reliably prevents fractures or builds strong bone.
