Prednisone falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.

Concurrent use of ipriflavone and immunosuppressant drugs might have additive effects on inhibiting immune function. Some patients taking ipriflavone experience subclinical lymphocytopenia; avoid concurrent use. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the thing to know if you're thinking about pairing ipriflavone with prednisone. This isn't about one drug changing how the other is broken down. Instead, both can quietly turn down your immune system. Prednisone already suppresses immune activity (that's often why it's prescribed), and ipriflavone has been shown in some people to lower white blood cell counts, especially the lymphocytes. Stack them together and that effect may add up.

What could that mean for you? A higher chance of catching infections, or having a harder time shaking one off. Because of this, the general advice is to avoid using them at the same time. Please don't stop your prednisone on your own, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first so they can guide you safely.
