Here's the connection worth knowing about: khella's natural compounds (khellin and visnagin) can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Amitriptyline can do the same thing on its own. So when you pair the two, you may sunburn faster or break out in a rash with less sun exposure than usual. This isn't about khella changing how your body processes amitriptyline, and it won't make the antidepressant stronger or weaker. It's purely about your skin and the sun stacking up.

To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based mostly on anecdotal reports, so it's not a guaranteed problem. Still, if you do use both, simple steps like sunscreen, a hat, and limiting midday sun go a long way.
