STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Codeine Phosphate
Aspirin, Caffeine, Codeine Phosphate falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Octopamine interacts with.
Some stimulant drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, diethylpropion (Tenuate), methylphenidate, phentermine (Ionamin), pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, others), and many others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that matters with this combination product: it contains caffeine, which is a stimulant. Octopamine is also a stimulant-like compound that nudges the same adrenaline-type receptors. Stacking two stimulants together could, in theory, add up and bump your heart rate and blood pressure, leaving you feeling jittery, anxious, restless, or aware of a pounding or racing heart.
I'll be straight with you though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds work rather than strong human studies, and it's rated as a minor interaction. The codeine and aspirin parts aren't really the issue here. Still, if you have high blood pressure or any heart trouble, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing octopamine with this medicine.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Caffeine, Codeine Phosphate page
“Anacin with Codeine combines aspirin, caffeine, and codeine, and each of the three picks up its own supplement problems, so this is a list worth real caution. Just over half of the 398 ingredients here, 202 of them, can add to aspirin's blood-thinning action and raise bleeding risk.”

About Octopamine
What is Octopamine?
- Weight loss and fat burning
- Boosting energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
Octopamine is a stimulant-like compound found in small amounts in some plants (such as bitter orange) and made naturally in the body. It is marketed mostly in weight-loss and sports supplements, but human evidence that it actually helps with fat loss or performance is very limited. Because it can affect the heart and blood pressure and is banned in some sports, talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it.
