Paracetamol falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of Padang cassia might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Padang cassia contains coumarin. Coumarin has caused hepatotoxicity in animal models. In otherwise healthy humans, very high doses of coumarin, from 50-7000 mg daily, can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.

Here's the thing to know about this pairing: both can be tough on your liver. Paracetamol is well known for liver strain when taken in high doses or over long stretches. Padang cassia (a cassia cinnamon) naturally contains coumarin, which in large or concentrated supplement amounts has been linked to liver problems in some people. Stacking two liver stressors is the worry here.

This concern is mostly theoretical and based on pharmacology, not strong human studies for this exact combo. Sprinkling cinnamon on your oatmeal is not going to be the issue. Concentrated cinnamon supplements are a different story, especially if you take paracetamol regularly or already have liver concerns. Watch for things like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or belly pain, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Padang Cassia is a type of cinnamon (Indonesian or Korintje cinnamon) grown mainly in Indonesia and used widely as a kitchen spice. As a supplement, evidence for health benefits like blood sugar control is limited and mixed, and like other cassia cinnamons it naturally contains coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver in large amounts. Use food amounts freely, but talk to a pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated cinnamon supplements.

What Is Acetaminophen Injection Used For?

Brand name: Panadol

Acetaminophen Injection is given intravenously (through a vein) to manage mild to moderate pain, or moderate to severe pain when used together with opioid pain medicines, in adults and children 2 years and older. It is also used to reduce fever in adults and pediatric patients of all ages, including premature newborns born at 32 weeks gestational age or later.

For children under 2 years old, Acetaminophen Injection is approved for fever reduction, but its effectiveness for pain relief in that age group has not been established.
