In vitro research shows that a methanol extract of Padang cassia inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, taking Padang cassia with CYP3A4 substrates might increase the effects and side effects of these substrates.

Here's the short version: your body clears rimegepant (Nurtec ODT) mainly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, a concentrated extract of Padang cassia appeared to slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in real life, rimegepant could linger in your system a bit longer and act stronger, which might mean more of its usual side effects like nausea, stomach upset, or sleepiness.

I want to keep this in perspective, though. This is based only on lab data, not on people, so it's a theoretical concern. Sprinkling cinnamon on your oatmeal or toast is very unlikely to matter. The question mark is really about concentrated cinnamon capsules taken daily. If you're considering one, run it past your pharmacist or doctor first.
